Meditation

I have been practicing meditation for over 25 years. From the first time I heard Jack Kornfield speak, I was hooked. At that point, for me meditation meant taking several seconds or maybe a minute to let go of the day prior and the day ahead and to just float in the current, perfect moment.

Much later, I discovered all the other myriad forms of meditation: Guided Meditation, mindfulness, lovingkindness/metta, Vipassana/insight, transcendental, mantra, Qigong, breath, RAIN, relaxation, walking and many other types. Meditation quite literally is the only thing that 100% works for me 100% of the time. And after 10 years of anxiety and depression, it is my rock.

I am currently studying to be a meditation teacher in the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program (MMTCP) taught by Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach. This program is offered through Jack’s Spirit Rock institute under the auspices of the Greater Good Science Center at the University of California at Berkeley. It is my intention to offer Guided Meditation and spiritual guidance upon graduating. See my 1-on-1 session page for my rates, including my “while-I’m-a-student” rate.

In my three-decade spiritual journey I have discovered the benefits of so many other meditative practices as well: Float tanks (sensory deprivation), sound baths, Reiki, bodywork (including shiatsu, deep tissue and Thai), yoga and plant medicines. I will happily share my learnings with you and everyone so that all beings may be at peace.
