About

My name is Pat Mannion and I have been practicing meditation for almost 30 years and am currently pursuing certification via the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Training Program offered by SpiritRock and UC Berkeley. I am also a men’s work facilitator and have attended numerous men’s retreats and encounter weekends. Additionally, I am a pastoral caregiver for the Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Fullerton.

For 10 years I lived with anxiety and depression and luckily found a way out of it… a way beyond the crippling day-to-day of anti-depressants (which I am NOT against as they CAN help for a while). I created SlowDownTheWorld.com as a place to spread awareness of what I went through and to share of all of these things I have found that help.

In my many years of building community, I’ve created games, hosted conferences, and created places where people of all ages can play together. I am also a puzzle constructor, and have had numerous puzzles published by the National Puzzlers League.

I have taught improv workshops, performed with several comedy troupes and invented thousands of short and long form improvisational games. I believe play is one of the most important ways we can heal and grow communities and help slow the world down.

My hope is that you will work with me to remind everyone that we are living in an abundant world and that the best way to move forward is to build community and help each other no matter what age we are at.
